CropLife Tanzania (CLT) is a non - profit making, member-based association of national and international companies registered to carry out pesticides businesses, including manufacturing, formulating, repacking, importing and selling pesticides. It was established in 1989 as Agrochemical Association of Tanzania and changed its name to CropLife Tanzania in 2003 to conform to the pattern of similar regional and international associations like CropLife Africa Middle East, and CropLife International based in Brussels. The Integrated Rural Development Organization (IRDO) began as the Ileje Food Crop Production Project in 1989. It evolved into the Ileje Rural Development Trust Fund (IRDTF) and later, in 2004, became the Ileje Rural Development Organization to align with Tanzania's 2002 NGO policy. As of February 2012, it was renamed the Integrated Rural Development Organization, expanding its mandate to cover all of mainland Tanzania. IRDO primarily collaborates with smallholder farmers, focusing on agriculture as their main income source. The organization engages farmer groups and networks to disseminate services and works with CSOs to assist vulnerable children and women of reproductive age. IRDO supports agricultural sectors and promotes initiatives related to vulnerable children, HIV/AIDS, economic empowerment, and nutrition for pregnant/lactating mothers and children under five. Operating in Tanzania mainland, IRDO's main role is to facilitate and empower CBOs, NGOs, and the public to enhance institutional and organizational development for improved service delivery and community livelihoods.
